»Hure« hatte er über den Badezimmerspiegel an die Wand geschrieben. So ein altmodisch-macho-haftes Wort hätte ich ihm nicht zugetraut. Lange habe ich überlegt, ob ich durch Buchstaben-Hinzufügen etwas anderes daraus machen kann. Aber mehr als »Feuer muss man schüren« und »Das Schafschurende ist nah« fiel mir nicht ein. Also eben Hure. Viele fanden es witzig oder hielten es für »Kunst«. Dabei war es nur das Ende einer lange schon unerfreulichen Liebesgeschichte – für ihn offenbar schlimmer als für mich.

He had written the word »whore« (German: »Hure«) above the bathroom mirror. I hadn’t expected him to use such old-fashioned macho language. For a while I thought I might change the meaning by adding some more letters, but I couldn’t come up with anything better than »WhoRents a place like this?« or »WhoReads this anyway?«. Leave it at »whore« then. A lot of people thought it was funny or even art, when it had only been the end of a love story that had long turned sour – obviously in a worse way for him than for me.
